Iran Condemns Israel as ‘Embodiment of State Terrorism’
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi denounced Israel’s deadly attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip, describing the Tel Aviv regime as “the embodiment of state terrorism”.
In a statement released late on Monday, Qassemi decried the Israeli forces’ killing of several Palestinians, including a resistance commander in Gaza, and said such crimes prove that the Israeli regime is “the very embodiment of state terrorism in the region”.
He further deplored the continuation of the crimes and aggression of the Zionist regime with the support and encouragement of the US government amid the silence and cooperation of some regional states.
The spokesman also called for immediate international intervention to stop “the Zionist regime’s terror and war machine”.
At least four Palestinians were killed by Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip and an Israeli civilian died in a barrage of rocket fire in the worst violence between the two sides since the 2014 war.
The latest escalation came less than 24 hours after at least seven Palestinians were killed in a covert Israeli operation in the besieged enclave.
Hamas, the group administering the Strip, said one of Monday's air attacks destroyed the building of its television station. There was no immediate word of casualties.
Along with the air raids, Israeli artillery units also shelled positions across the densely populated enclave.
