Iran’s Ghoddos Goal Nominated for Best Goal: Asian Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Saman Ghoddos goal against Yemen has been nominated for winning the best goal of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup group stage.
Ghoddos scored Team Melli’s fifth goal against Yemen in Iran’s opening match.
He is vying with Indian Sunil Chhetri, Arslanmyrat Amanov from Turkmenistan, Thailand’s Chanathip Songkrasin, Chinese Wu Lei, Mohanad Ali from Iraq, Saudi Arabian Fahad Al Muwallad, Australian Awer Mabil, Vietnamese Nguyen Quang Hai and Tsukasa Shiotani from Japan.
In the 36 matches played in the group stages of the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, a total of 96 goals scored - 2.67 per match - and some of them truly memorable strikes.
