Iran Earns Third Win at Indoor Hockey Asia Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s men’s team earned its third successive victory at the 2019 Men's Indoor Asia Cup on Thursday.
Iran beat Malaysia 4-1 in Group A. Team Melli will face the Philippines on Friday.
Iran has already defeated Bangladesh (8-0) and Thailand (7-2).
Iran’s women’s team also defeated Nepal 5-1.
The Persian women started the campaign with a 5-0 win over the Philippines and lost to Kazakhstan 6-0 in its second match.
Iran will meet Uzbekistan on Friday.
The 2019 Men's Indoor Asia Cup is the eighth edition of the men's Indoor Hockey Asia Cup, the biennial international men's indoor hockey championship of Asia organized by the Asian Hockey Federation.
The competition is being held alongside the women's tournament in Chonburi, Thailand from 15 to 21 July 2019.
Iran’s men team is the defending champion having won the 2017 edition.
