Esteghlal Moves Top of IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team defeated Tractor 3-1 to go top of Iran professional league (IPL) table.
On Monday, Cheick Diabate gave the visiting team ahead in Tabriz’s Yadegar-e Emam Stadium in the 38th minute.
Mehdi Ghaedi made it 2-0 in the 60th minute and Diabate scored his second goal five minutes later.
With 10 minutes remaining, Tractor forward Mohammad Abbaszadeh pulled a goal back.
Esteghlal moved top of the table with 22 points from 11 matches.
Sanat naft sits second with 21 points.
