Iran to Unveil Stamp in Honor of Ali Daei
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi said legendary football player Ali Daei’s stamp will be unveiled soon.
“The stamp will be unveiled in his presence. We must respect Daei for what he has achieved,” Azari Jahrami said.
Daei scored for Iran 109 times in 149 international matches between 1993 and 2006. Wednesday night, Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice from the spot against France and equaled Daei’s record.
Daei congratulated Ronaldo on his Instagram account for the achievement and the Portuguese forward also responded to Daei with an Instagram story of his own.
“True champions remain champions forever. I'm very proud to read such kind words from a huge idol like you. Thank you Ali Daei.”
Now, the Iranian minister has announced that a new stamp will be unveiled in honor of the legendary Iranian footballer.
