Persepolis Moves Top of Table: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team provisionally moved top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) table by defeating Mes Rafsanjan.
Mehdi Abdi, who came off the bench, scored the visiting team’s goal with 10 minutes remaining.
Persepolis moved top of the table with 51 points, three points above Sepahan who has one game in hand.
Esteghlal defeated Gol Gohar in Tehran courtesy of goals from Mohammad Hossein Moradmand and Mehdi Mehdipour. Esteghlal is third with 43 points.
Machine Sazi moved another step closer to relegation from the IPL after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Nassaji in Tabriz.
In Abadan, Sanat Naft edged past Saipa 1-0 and Zob Ahan and Aluminum shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in Isfahan.
