Geraei Claims Fourth Gold for Iran at World Wrestling C’ships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mohammad Reza Geraei earned another gold medal for Iran’s Greco-Roman team in the 2021 World Wrestling Championships on Sunday.
The 2020 Olympic Games gold medal winner defeated Russian Nazir Abdullaev 5-2 in the final match of 67kg.
Almat Kebispayev from Kazakhstan and Georgian Ramaz Zoidze also claimed two bronze medals in the weight category.
Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers Mohammad Hadi Saravi (97kg), Ali Akbar Yousefi (130kg) and Meysam Dalkhani (63kg) had previously claimed three gold medals.
A total of 800 wrestlers from 100 countries competed at the Wrestling World Championships from October 2 to 10 in Oslo, Norway.
