Iran Comes 31st in IHF Women's Handball World Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran lost to Cameroon 32-17 in Group I of the International Handball Federation (IHF) President's Cup Monday night.
The Iranian women's handball team had previously lost to Romania, Norway, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Angola in the 2021 Women's Handball World Championship in Spain.
Laeticia Ateba, Cameroon's top scorer in the match against Uzbekistan with 14 goals, did well in the second half, finishing the game with six goals, one less than hummel Player of the Match Cyrielle Ebanga.
While 'The Lionesses' will play their last match at the World Championship on Wednesday, the competition is over for Iran.
The Asian side lost all its six matches and finished bottom of Group I. However, it is now certain to be ranked 31st, as PR of China has withdrawn from Spain 2021.
