Abdel-Aziz Nimir Powers Netherland’s Win over Iran: VNL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Netherlands’ Abdel-Aziz Nimir played a key role in helping his team defeat Iran 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-21) in the 2022 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Pool 1 in Brasilia, Brazil Friday night.
Nimir scored 20 points while Amin Esmaeilnejhad earned 15 points for Iran.
Iran is scheduled to meet Australia on Sunday.
The Volleyball Nations League was launched as a new competition in 2018 and ever since has been the annual meeting point for the top teams in the world.
The competition began with a Preliminary Round played over six competition weeks, with women and men taking their turns every other week in racing for the spots in the Finals.
