Iran Loses to Kazakhstan at FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Kazakhstan 68-60 for the second time in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers.
In the match, held at the Saryarka Velodrome in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan Friday night, Kazakhstan's top playmaker, Rustam Murzagaliyev led all scorers with 26 points, while Iran’s big man Hamed Haddadi scored 18 points.
Iran had lost to Kazakhstan in Group C in the past February.
The two teams will face each other again in the upcoming Asia Cup as they are both in Group C.
Iran, who stands second in Group D, will play its host Syria on Monday.
