Iran’s Saravai Takes Bronze in World Wrestling Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mohammad Hadi Saravi from Iran won a bronze medal in the 2022 World Wrestling Championships Monday night.
At 97kg, defending champion and Olympic bronze medalist Saravi bounced back from his heartbreaking semifinal loss to Artur Aleksanyan by outclassing Metehan Basar from Turkey 6-1 for the bronze.
His countryman Mohammad Reza Geraei had previously won a silver medal in the 67kg after losing to Serbian Greco-Roman wrestler Mate Nemes 5-4.
The competition is being held in Belgrade, Serbia.
