FM Warns Europe to Abandon Failed Policies on Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of Iran cautioned the European governments to discard their failed approach to the Islamic Republic.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Belarusian counterpart in Tehran on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian warned the European parties not to continue with the unconstructive, hackneyed and failed approaches they have been adopting in the past years.

Pointing to the new sanctions that the Iranian Foreign Ministry has slapped on a number of European institutions and officials, Amirabdollahian said those persons and entities have been sanctioned for supporting terrorism and promoting violence and extremism.

He further dismissed the allegations made by Western officials that Iranian drones have been used in the Ukraine war, inviting the Ukrainian authorities to attend a bilateral meeting of experts and present any evidence supporting the accusation.

For his part, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei stressed the need for proper measures by Belarus and Iran in response to the Western sanctions.

He also noted that the implementation of the previous agreements would promote economic cooperation between the two nations.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran designated 8 organizations and companies as well as 12 officials from Europe for supporting and promoting terrorism and violence that have resulted in riots, terrorist activities and violation of human rights harming the Iranian nation.

The people slapped with the sanctions are banned from entering Iran and their assets under the jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be frozen.
