Iran Beaten by Montenegro at 2023 Handball World Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Veselin Vujovic’s Iran lost to Montenegro 34-31 at the 2023 IHF Men's World Championship preliminary group Saturday night.
Iran had created history on Thursday, beating Chile 25-24 in Group A of the Championship at the Tauron Arena in Kraków, Poland.
Team Melli is scheduled to meet Spain on Monday, while Montenegro will face Chile.
“I am proud of my players. We tried to catch Montenegro, but it was too much,” said Vujovic.
“This is a big school for us; there is much emotion from me, believe me,” he added.
