Iran among World’s Top 10 Countries in Renewable Energy Field
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Given its unique capacities, Iran is among the top 10 countries in the world in the field of renewable energy, according to the chairman of Board of Directors of Iran Electricity Industry Syndicate.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 2nd Iranian Conference on Renewable Energy, Payam Bagheri said Iran enjoys very good capacities in the renewable energy sector.
The appropriate level of solar radiation and the existence of wind corridors are among these capacities, he said, adding, “In addition to these advantages, the importance of using renewable energy depends on the cleanness of this type of energy, so effective steps should be taken for evermore development of renewable energies.”
The chairman of the Board of Directors of Iran Electricity Industry Syndicate pointed out that the development of renewable energies is a solution for overcoming problems in the field of supplying energy.
He said the development of renewable energies should be seriously pursued in order to reduce electricity-related problems.
Bagheri considered energy as the driving force of the country’s economic development, adding that renewable energies are the driving force of this development that can remove the imbalance in the electricity sector.
