TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran swept past Hong Kong in straight sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-16) in the 22nd Asian Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship on Sunday.
Team Melli will meet Iraq on Monday in Pool A.
With an eye on the prize, Iran is eager to clinch the title for a remarkable fifth time. On the other hand, Japan, being the most decorated team with nine titles to their name, stands as the primary favorite this year.
Both South Korea and Iran hold the distinction of having won the trophy on four occasions.
In the latest FIVB rankings, Japan boasts the prestigious title of the highest-ranked Asian team, clinching the fifth spot. Meanwhile, Iran secured the 10th position.
