Iran Blind Football Falls Short against Colombia at 2023 IBSA World Games
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s blind football team lost to Colombia 2-1 at the 2023 IBSA World Games Tuesday night.
Iran had lost to Brazil 1-0 in its opening match in Group D and was held to a 1-1 draw by Mexico in its second match.
Team Melli advanced to the quarterfinals after edging past Morocco 1-0 but failed to qualify for the semifinals, being defeated by the South American team.
Iran will meet Italy in the Games’ Placements round on Wednesday.
The football competition is being held from August 14 to 21 at the Bournbrook 3G pitch (Birmingham University Campus) in Birmingham, England.
