FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers: Iran Discovers Opponents
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Teams found out their respective paths to the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 following the Qualifiers Draw completion, Tuesday evening at the Ezdan Palace Hotel in the Qatari capital.
Iran has been pooled with Qatar, Kazakhstan and India in Group E of the Qualifiers.
Australia will face off against Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia in Group A.
Group B will see Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and New Zealand.
Leader of Asia Japan will tip off against China, Guam, and Mongolia in Group C.
In Group D, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia will play against each other, while Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon, and the UAE will compete in Group F.
24 teams across Asia and Oceania were drawn into six groups of four teams each.
Within each group, each team will face the other twice - on a home and away basis.
Thereafter, the top two teams from each group qualify directly to the FIBA Asia Cup 2025. The six third-placed teams will have to play another Final Qualifying Tournament, following which the top four will proceed to the continental championship.
