Iran Oil Industry Foils Enemy Attempt to Infiltrate Infrastructures: Deputy Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The enemy has resorted to various threats including hardware and software threats, Iran’s deputy oil minister said, adding that these attempts have been thwarted thanks to the vigilance of industrious staff and engineers of the oil industry.

Vahid-Reza Zeydifar made the comments on Thursday, the final day of the second meeting of senior managers of gas refining companies held in Bandar Abbas.

He also said that the activation of knowledge-based companies and development of software issues in this field are necessary in order to make serious decisions in the oil industry.

He pointed to the support of domestic production in the country and said the National Iranian Gas Company is a pioneering company in the field of domestic manufacturing of relevant parts and equipment.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the deputy oil minister for engineering, research and technology affairs emphasized that the current administration seriously pursues domestic production, especially in the gas industry and in the South Pars Gas Complex.

He referred to his recent visit to Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery and Persian Gulf Star Oil Refining Company and noted that these two companies have managed to meet 90 percent of domestic demand in the field of manufacturing related parts and equipment which is a source of honor for the country.
