Iran, Armenia Customs Officials Emphasize Bolstering Bilateral Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Customs officials from Iran and Republic of Armenia stressed the need for expanding mutual cooperation in a meeting held in the Russian capital of Moscow on Monday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Annual Customs Meeting of the Russian Federation in Moscow, Iran’s deputy president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) for customs affairs held talks with his Armenian counterpart to discuss bilateral ties in line with enhancing customs cooperation.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on increasing the admission of trucks carrying import, export and transit goods at the common borders, electronic exchange of information and the development of border customs offices of the two countries in terms of infrastructure and software.

In addition, the Iranian and Armenian customs officials stressed the need to exchange scanned documents in the export and transit fields aimed at accelerating and facilitating trade activities between the two countries.
