Israeli Bombardment Claims Lives in Gaza's Shujaiya Neighborhood
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A deadly Israeli airstrike on Gaza's Shujaiya neighborhood, located in the eastern part of the Strip, has been denounced as a "massacre" by the Palestinian health ministry.
Israeli forces carried out bombing raids across the Gaza Strip, with illumination rounds lighting up the skies over northern Gaza, highlighting ongoing Israeli operations around Gaza City.
The attack in Gaza's al-Shujaiya neighborhood resulted in at least 15 casualties, with victims rushed to Al-Shifa Hospital, even as the vicinity surrounding the medical facility came under heavy bombardment early on Wednesday.
Additionally, the Palestinian news agency Wafa has reported 13 bodies taken to the Nasser and European Hospitals following Israeli air raids on Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. The Indonesian Hospital continued to receive patients despite the heavy airstrikes nearby on Wednesday.
Tragedy also unfolded in the Jabaliya refugee camp on Tuesday night, where two individuals lost their lives due to an Israeli bombing. They were subsequently transported to the Indonesian Hospital located in northern Gaza.
Intense Israeli airstrikes targeted a home in the Nuseirat refugee camp situated in central Gaza, leading to several fatalities and injuries, according to Wafa.
The Israeli attacks continue to destroy parts of the Gaza Strip, with a particular focus on Gaza City and its densely populated Shujaiya neighborhood. The eastern side of Gaza City was also subjected to attacks, seemingly in an effort to prepare the neighborhood for easier access for Israeli tanks moving further into the heart of Gaza.
As these relentless attacks persist, residents are unable to leave their homes, either due to the intensity of the airstrikes or a lack of alternative shelter options. UNRWA schools are no longer seen as ideal places for refuge, and hospitals have also become increasingly unsafe.
Amid this dire situation, people remain confined to their homes, trapped by the ongoing violence that has claimed the lives of at least 10,328 Palestinians in Gaza since October 7.
