Russian Firms Developing 7 Oilfields in Iran: NIOC Chief

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Seven oilfields in Iran are being developed by Russian companies, the chief executive of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding for setting up an artificial intelligence strategic center and digital oil and gas fields, Mohsen Khojastehmehr said seven oilfields of the country are being developed by Russian companies.

He added that a considerable portion of technical and engineering services, though, is being carried out by competent Iranian companies.

Based on a law the requires taking maximum advantage of the high potential and capacities of domestic engineers, Iranian companies in tandem with the Russian firms are active in developing seven oilfields in south and northwest part of the country, Khojastehmehr added.
