Iran Advances to 2023 IBSA Goalball Asia/Pacific C’ships Final
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran beat Thailand 8-3 on Friday to qualify for the 2023 IBSA Goalball Asia/Pacific Championships final.
Team Melli had previously secured victories against Kazakhstan (10-0), Mongolia (11-1), South Korea (9-6), and Pakistan (10-0).
Iran is set to face South Korea on Saturday.
As the bronze medalist in the 2022 Asian Para Games, Iran stands a chance to secure its ticket to Paris 2024.
Host China has already qualified for the Paralympics. Japan, the silver medalist in the 2022 Asian Para Games, opted out of participating in this continental championship, providing ample opportunities for the Persian squad.
