Tajikistan’s Sadullo Chosen as Tehran Derby VAR Official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Gulmurodi Sadullo from Tajikistan was chosen as one of three video assistant referee (VAR) officials in the match between Persepolis and Esteghlal in the Tehran derby.
Mahsa Ghorbani had previously been chosen as the first Iranian woman for a men’s match. She will officiate as a VAR official.
The Tehran derby will be held on March 13 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
The VAR is a match official in association football who assists the referee by reviewing decisions using video footage and providing advice to the referee based on those reviews.
