Islamic Resistance in Iraq Targets Israeli Air Base in Occupied Golan with Drones
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has conducted another anti-Israeli operation, hitting the regime's air base in the occupied Golan Heights with drones, according to a statement by the group.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella group of the country's anti-terror movements, announced the attack on its Telegram channel early Monday, without specifying the name of the Israeli air base.
"The fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, at dawn today, Monday, 3/18/2024, targeted with drones an air base for the Zionist occupation's drones in the occupied Golan," the statement said.
The group emphasized that operations against the occupying entity would increase during the holy month of Ramadan to dismantle more enemy strongholds.
This strike is part of the second phase of the group's operations against the Israeli regime, showing support for the Palestinian people in Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli aggression.
Israel's genocidal war in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 31,645 Palestinians and injuries to 73,676 others.
The regime's blockade on Gaza has severely affected over two million Palestinians, depriving them of fuel, electricity, food, medicine, and water.
This latest operation follows a recent attack by the Iraqi resistance on Israel's main airport in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
"The fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq... targeted Ben Gurion Airport deep within the usurping entity by drone," the group said in a statement.
Earlier this month, the Iraqi resistance announced it had targeted Haifa Airport in the northern part of the occupied territories in another show of support for Palestine.
The group has also carried out several attacks on bases hosting American forces in Iraq and neighboring Syria, denouncing the US's unwavering support for Israeli actions in Gaza.
