New Consular Section of Iran’s Embassy to Open in Syria
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian is going to inaugurate a new consular section of the country’s embassy in Damascus on Monday a week after the building was demolished in an Israeli airstrike.
During his visit to Damascus, Amirabdollahian will open a building that will serve as the new consular section of the Iranian embassy.
The previous diplomatic site was razed in an Israeli missile attack on April 1.
Seven Iranian military advisers, including two ranking Islamic Revolution Guards Corps commanders, were martyred in the airstrike.
The Iranian foreign minister has traveled to Damascus after a visit to Oman.
Amirabdollahian held a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad on Monday.
