One Killed, Two Injured As Israeli Airstrikes Hit Southern Lebanon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A Lebanese man sustained minor injuries, and a Syrian man was moderately injured following Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon earlier this morning, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).

Additionally, an Israeli air attack killed one person in the southern Lebanese town of Khiam.

The injured men were taken to a hospital for treatment, as reported by the NNA, which cited the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The exact location of the injuries was not disclosed.

Reports from NNA and Al Mayadeen TV indicated that Israeli air raids targeted several locations in southern Lebanon, including Zebqin, Yater, Shebaa Valley, villages in Nabatieh, the Bir Kalb area, Kfar Kila, Alma ash-Shaab, and Meiss el-Jabal.

Amid the Hezbollah strikes, the Israeli military has imposed restrictions on civilians in northern occupied Palestine and the occupied Golan Heights. The military’s Home Front Command closed beaches near the border with Lebanon and limited outdoor gatherings to 30 people, while indoor meetings were restricted to 300, according to The Times of Israel. Educational activities and workplaces are permitted to operate only if adequate shelter is available nearby.

In response to the ongoing conflict, Israel’s war minister Yoav Gallant declared an “emergency situation” for the next 48 hours, enabling the military to issue directives to limit crowd sizes, and close off certain areas, as reported by Israeli media.

Hezbollah, the Lebanese resistance group, claimed responsibility for targeting Israeli military bases, stating it aimed to “facilitate the passage of drones” toward targets deep inside Israeli occupied territories. The group reported that more than 320 Katyusha rockets were fired at 11 Israeli military bases and barracks, including the Meron base and several sites in the occupied Golan Heights.

This morning, Hezbollah announced that the “first phase” of its retaliatory attack against Israel had been “concluded with complete success.” The group issued a statement asserting it had launched a “large” drone and rocket attack on Israel as part of an initial response to the Israeli military’s killing of its commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut on July 30.

Hezbollah confirmed that its fighters targeted multiple military sites, barracks, and Iron Dome platforms. The Lebanese group warned that these military operations would take time to conclude and promised to release a detailed statement about the process and targets once completed.

“At this moment, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon is at the highest readiness and will confront any Zionist aggression, especially if it touches civilians, with severe punishment,” Hezbollah added.
