Over One Million Palestinians Tortured in Israeli Jails
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Palestinian Committee of Prisoners’ Affairs said the number of Palestinian people tortured in Israeli jails has hit one million.
“The Zionist enemy has tortured Palestinians in its jails using 80 methods”, the committee said in a statement on Sunday, the Palestinian Information Center reported.
The statement came on the eve of the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, which is annually marked on June 26.
The report added the Zionist regime of Israel uses brutal arrests of Palestinians as a tool to suppress them, strike fear into their hearts, and punish them collectively.
The committee added that physical and mental torture of Palestinian prisoners amounts to human rights violation and is against international laws.
It further called on the international community to take prompt action and put an end to the abuse and torture of Palestinian detainees.
