World Para Powerlifting Championships: Iran’s Moradi Clinches Silver

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Nader Moradi earned Iran’s second medal at the World Para Powerlifting Championships in Kazakhstan’s capital Nur-Sultan on Tuesday.

He lifted 202kg at the men’s up to 72kg and won a silver medal.

The gold medal went to Chinese athlete Peng Hu who lifted 209kg.

Nnamdi Innocent from Nigeria also claimed a bronze medal, lifting 190kg.

Iranian powerlifter Amir Jafari claimed a bronze medal on Monday in the men’s up to 65kg.

 Action will continue on Wednesday with the men’s up to 88kg, and women’s up to 67kg, 73kg and 79kg.

The 2019 World Para Powerlifting Championship is being held with the participation of more than 450 athletes from 79 countries and will end on July 20.
