Iranian General Staff Hails Gen. Soleimani for War on Terrorism
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces paid tribute to the late commander of IRGC Quds Force Commander Major General Qassem Soleimani for his unwavering fight against the terrorist Takfiri groups.
In a statement on Friday, the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff condemned the terrorist act by the “criminal US regime” that assassinated General Soleimani in Iraq in the early hours of Friday.
The statement also paid tribute to General Soleimani for his leading role in the fight against the terrorist and Takfiri groups which are “stooges of the criminal US” government.
It also emphasized that those who ordered and perpetrated the assassination of General Soleimani must await a harsh and regrettable revenge.
The Islamic community, including the great Iraqi nation, has witnessed General Soleimani’s devotion and support for the Hashd al-Shaabi in the war against the Takfiri terrorists in Iraq, the General Staff added, expressing confidence that the Iranian nation is going to deal another heavy blow to the global arrogance, spearheaded by the criminal US regime and the Zionist regime of Israel.
The White House and the Pentagon confirmed the assassination of General Soleimani in Iraq, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of US President Donald Trump.
