Esteghlal Captain Ghafouri Not Fit for Shahr Khodro Match
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal captain Vouria Ghafouri will miss the match against Shahr Khodro in Matchweek 6 of the Iran Professional League.
The Blues are scheduled to play Shahr Khodro on Sunday in Mashhad.
Ghafouri missed the match against Sanat Naft due to a meniscal cyst but the club said earlier this week that he would reach the next match.
The 33-year-old winger will miss several weeks if he undergoes a knee surgery.
The player’s absence will be a big blow to Esteghlal since the team is without Cheick Diabate, Masoud Rigi and Farshid Esmaeili for this match.
Esteghlal, headed by Mahmoud Fekri, is under pressure after a home draw against Sanat Naft and the team must meet the expectations in the coming weeks.
