Iran Seeks Spot at FIBA 3x3 Universality Olympic Qualifying

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s women’s team will participate at the FIBA 3x3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Debrecen, Hungary.

After the Iranian women team failed to book an Olympic place at the FIBA 3x3 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Austria, now the team is going to fight for its place in Olympics once again.

There is still one spot up for grabs.

At the FIBA 3x3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament, taking place in Debrecen, June 4-6, six men’s and six women’s teams will take their last shot at securing their place in the Olympic field.

Women
Pool A: Italy (1), Iran (4), Chinese Taipei (5)
Pool B: Netherlands (2), Hungary (3), Estonia (6)

After pool play, the winner of each pool will automatically enter the semi-final, while the teams finishing second and third will play against their opposite pool opponent in the quarter-finals. The bracket will all be single-elimination and only the winner of the event will earn a spot in the Olympics.
