TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that a meeting between representatives from Russia, China, Pakistan, and Iran yielded positive results.
Khatibzadeh spoke to media on the outcomes of a recent meeting of representatives from Afghanistan's four neighboring countries, adding that the four states had an inclusive session.
The delegations of the four nations had held thorough conversations in the days preceding the conference, which continued even after the brief meeting of the four foreign ministers on Thursday.
According to the Foreign Ministry spokesman, the outcomes of the mutual discussions between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Russian, Chinese, and Pakistani counterparts will be announced soon, according to IRNA.
On the sidelines of the 21st Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, the foreign ministers of these four nations conducted talks on Afghanistan.
According to the spokesman, the topics and agreements discussed at the meetings will be reflected in a statement which will be released in the coming hours.
The four countries are attempting to use their positive influence to assist Afghanistan in forming an inclusive administration and restoring security and stability to the war-torn country.
