Zeljko Petrovic No Longer Iraq Coach
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iraqi Football Association (IFA) announced on Wednesday that Zeljko Petrovic has been dismissed as its national team coach.
“IFA held a meeting at its headquarters in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, the President of the Federation, Adnan Darjal, the First Deputy of the Federation, Ali Jabbar, the Second Deputy Younis Mahmoud, as well as members of the Executive Office where the meeting resulted in several decisions,” said IFA in a statement cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Petrovic replaced Dick Advocaat in December.
The Dutchman stepped down as his coaching role in late November.
Iraq has no chance of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
