Al Hilal Edges Foolad in ACL Quarterfinals

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal earned a 1-0 narrow victory over Foolad of Iran in the 2022 AFC Champions League (ACL) quarterfinals on Thursday night.

With three minutes remaining, Saleh Al Shehri sent Moussa Marega a fine pass, the Malian forward took control and applied his trademark finish from the right into the bottom corner to win it for Al Hilal in Doha’s Al Janoub Stadium.

Foolad, who was headed by Hamid Reza Rajabi after Javad Nekounam's resignation before the match, played well against the Asian giant but suffered a late loss.

Al Hilal is going to advance to the fifth continental final in the past nine years.

Al Hilal will play Al Duhail of Qatar in semifinals.
