Iran Weightlifter Davoudi Seizes Silver at Hangzhou
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian super heavy weight weightlifter Ali Davoudi won a silver medal in the 2022 Asian Games.
He lifted 192kg in snatch and 234kg in clean and jerk and his total effort of 426kg fetched him a silver medal.
Bahrain’s Gor Minasyan took the gold with 212 in snatch, 245 in clean and jerk and 457 in total.
Uzbekistan’s Rustam Djangabaev clinched the bronze medal with 190-233-423.
A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the 2022 Asian Games.
Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
