Iranian Duo Wins Gold, Bronze at 2024 World Para Athletics
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Amir Hossein Alipour and Mahdi Olad of Iran claimed a gold and a bronze medal at the 2024 World Para Athletics Championships on Monday.
In the Men’s Shot Put F11 final, Alipour won the gold medal with 14.61 meters. He also broke the championship record and won a place at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
Neutral Paralympic Athlete Igor Baskakov won the silver medal with 13.62 meters.
The bronze medal went to Olad, throwing 13.28 meters.
Held in East Asia for the first time and a crucial qualifier for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the Kobe 2024 Para Athletics World Championships attracted over 1,000 athletes from 100 countries and regions to compete in 168 events.
