Gaza Condemns Israel for Deliberate Crimes against Hospitals

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Gaza government has condemned Israel's evacuation of hospitals, saying the regime has deliberately aimed at exacerbating the health crisis in the enclave.

The Gaza Government Media Office denounced Israel's crime on Tuesday, after the Israeli occupation forcibly evacuated hospitals such as the European Hospital in Khan Younis. This move, they stated, has taken 34 hospitals out of service, intensifying the humanitarian crisis and endangering thousands of patients.

According to a statement from the Government Media Office, the Israeli military issued evacuation orders to the European Hospital and its medical staff, deepening the health crisis to unprecedented levels. The office declared these actions as part of a systematic plan to create a humanitarian disaster in Gaza.

"The deliberate and intentional evacuation of hospitals by the Israeli occupation is part of their premeditated strategy to worsen the health crisis in Gaza," the statement emphasized.

Highlighting the impact, the Gaza government pointed out that with the European Hospital now out of service, the remaining medical facilities face heightened pressure. They specifically noted the strain on Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, the last operational health center in the central governorate.

In a direct condemnation, the Gaza government criticized the international community for failing to halt Israel's crimes against hospitals, which they assert has emboldened further aggression. They held both the Israeli occupation and the American administration accountable, urging urgent intervention from global bodies to prevent further hospital evacuations and protect medical staff and patients.

Meanwhile, reports from local media indicated that an Israeli airstrike on a home in Deir el-Balah killed Palestinian doctor Hassan Hamdan, head of the Burns and Plastic Surgery Department at Nasser Hospital, along with his family.

Videos posted by Palestinian activists on Instagram depicted the aftermath of evacuation orders at the European Gaza Hospital, illustrating the impact of Israeli military operation against healthcare services in Gaza.

The Gaza Health Ministry had previously warned of imminent shutdowns due to fuel shortages needed to power generators, exacerbated by Israeli restrictions on essential supplies into Gaza.

Since the commencement of hostilities in October last year, the Israeli military has targeted Gaza's education and health sectors extensively, resulting in the destruction of numerous hospitals and educational institutions.

Despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire, Israeli airstrikes continue unabated, contributing to a devastating toll on Palestinian civilians, including thousands of deaths and widespread destruction of infrastructure.

The situation has prompted international outcry, with ongoing investigations by the International Court of Justice into the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israeli forces in Gaza.
