Israeli Raids Spark Violence, Arrests in Occupied West Bank

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Israeli military continued its operations across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, with reports of arrests, violence, and destruction.

Israeli forces extended their raid on the Jenin refugee camp into its seventh day on Tuesday, while also conducting operations across various regions of the West Bank.

Aljazeera reports indicate that one civilian was killed and dozens were arrested during these operations, as Palestinian groups engaged in clashes with Israeli forces.

Since the raid in Jenin began last Wednesday, Israel claims to have killed 14 fighters and arrested 25 others.

Palestinian health officials report that at least 29 people, including five children, have been killed during the ongoing Israeli violence.

Balakrishnan Rajagopal, the UN special rapporteur on the right to adequate housing, has decried the Israeli army’s continuing assault on the occupied West Bank.

“What the Israeli army is doing in Jenin and other locations in the West Bank is a continuation of the extermination campaign it has been waging in Gaza,” Rajagopal wrote in a post on X.

Israeli forces have arrested five Palestinians during raids in Nablus and Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, the Wafa news agency reported.

Three people were arrested in Nablus, where a young man was also shot and injured by Israeli forces, Wafa reported.

In the town of al-Khader, in Bethlehem, two 15-year-old Palestinian boys were arrested after Israeli forces raided and searched their parents’ homes.

At least 33 Palestinians have been killed in an ongoing Israeli assault on the occupied West Bank, which has included a deadly siege on Jenin, in the north.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society announced that dozens of individuals were arrested across the West Bank in the past 48 hours.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) shared a video on social media platform X, saying that Israeli military forces blocked its ambulances from reaching the wounded in Jenin.

The Jenin Battalion of al-Quds Brigades, affiliated with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group's armed wing, stated that its fighters are confronting Israeli forces using firearms and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Further south in the Tulkarem refugee camp, Israeli forces conducted another raid, marking the second such operation this week.

The Wafa news agency reported that a Palestinian teenager, Mohamed Kanaan, was killed by an Israeli sniper during the raid.

In other parts of the West Bank, Israeli troops reportedly stormed Birzeit University, north of Ramallah, seizing “properties and publications.”

A young man was injured in Qalqilya, a city in the northwest of the territory, after Israeli forces opened fire during a raid.

Additionally, Israeli army bulldozers demolished two homes in the town of az-Zawiya, and five individuals were arrested in the Hebron towns of Idhna and Beit Ummar.
