Yemeni Forces Target Israeli Military Sites in Support of Palestinians, Lebanese
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen's military has launched a series of missile strikes on Israeli positions within the occupied territories, signaling solidarity with Palestinians and Lebanese forces as Israel continues its offensives in Gaza and Lebanon.
In a televised address from Sana’a on Wednesday, Yemeni military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced that three Quds-5 cruise missiles, developed domestically, were fired at strategic Israeli installations.
Saree confirmed that the missiles successfully hit their targets, despite efforts by Israeli authorities to minimize reports of damage.
He commended Iran’s retaliatory strike on Israel, Operation True Promise II, and declared Yemen's readiness to join any joint military actions against Israel in support of Palestinian and Lebanese efforts.
“The continued US and British support for the Israeli enemy will put their interests in the region in jeopardy. Yemeni Armed Forces will not hesitate to expand their military operations against the Zionist enemy and its sponsors until the ongoing aggression against Gaza stops, the siege on the coastal territory is completely lifted, and the attacks on Lebanon come to an end,” Saree warned.
Yemen has openly backed the Palestinian cause since Israel’s war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023.
The Yemeni military has vowed to continue its attacks until Israel ceases its aerial and ground offensives in Gaza.
So far, Israeli strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least 41,638 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, with 96,460 others wounded in Gaza.
