Israeli Forces Arrest 30 Palestinians amid Reports of Prisoner Mistreatment

The arrests, which took place overnight and into the morning, included former prisoners.

The majority, 23 individuals, were arrested in the Hebron (al-Khalil) governorate, while the remaining detainees were taken from Nablus, Bethlehem, and occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds, the groups stated in a joint release.

Since October of last year, more than 11,200 Palestinians have been arrested in Israeli raids across the West Bank, according to the same sources.

In addition to these arrests, human rights organizations have repeatedly raised concerns about the mistreatment of Palestinian detainees in Israeli custody.

Allegations include harsh interrogation methods, poor prison conditions, and the denial of basic rights, such as access to medical care and family visits.

The Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, Addameer, reported that since October 7, 108 Palestinian journalists have been detained, with 58 still in Israeli custody.

This number includes six female journalists and 22 journalists from Gaza, whose identities have been confirmed, according to Addameer.

At least 16 of the journalists are being held under administrative detention, a system that allows imprisonment without charge or trial.

The group reported that over 9,000 administrative detention orders, both new and renewed, have been issued in the past year, including those targeting children and women.

Reports of mistreatment extend to these administrative detainees, many of whom endure long periods in custody without knowing the charges against them, with some subjected to physical and psychological abuse.

Meanwhile, at least four young Palestinians were wounded by Israeli live fire in confrontations that erupted in a refugee camp north of Hebron and in Jenin, the occupied West Bank, as tensions between Israeli forces and Palestinians continue to rise.
