25 Israeli Soldiers Wounded in Southern Lebanon Clashes: Reports
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Around 25 Israeli soldiers have been injured in ongoing battles with Hezbollah resistance forces in southern Lebanon, as tensions escalate between Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters.
Israeli media reported that 25 soldiers were wounded during ground operations in southern Lebanon on Sunday, with the injured being transferred to hospitals in occupied Palestinian territories.
No official statement has been provided by the Israeli military, but reports indicated that the wounded were taken to Rambam Hospital in Haifa following the clashes.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that its fighters detonated an explosive device and engaged in gunfire with Israeli troops attempting to infiltrate the village of Ramyah.
The resistance group further reported that its operatives clashed with Israeli forces in another nearby village, resulting in additional casualties during close-quarters combat.
These incidents mark one of the highest numbers of Israeli injuries in a single day since the current hostilities began. Fighting is intensifying across key areas, including Kfar Kila and Odaisseh, near the Lebanese border.
Israel warplanes continued to target the village of Aita al-Shaab and a market in Nabatieh, intensifying the conflict.
Reports suggest Israeli forces are operating within 2 kilometers of Lebanese territory, contributing to the high number of Israeli casualties as Hezbollah forces engage them on the ground and fire rockets.
Hezbollah also claimed an attack on Israel's Zabadin barracks, located in occupied territory, with the resistance group stating on Telegram that the rocket attack occurred at 5:30 a.m. local time (02:30 GMT).
Over the past 24 hours, Hezbollah has escalated its attacks on Israeli forces, with helicopters seen transporting the wounded back to northern occupied Palestine.
According to Hezbollah's latest statement, fighters targeted a gathering of Israeli troops in the village of Maroun al-Ras with artillery shells at 10:10 a.m. (07:10 GMT). Earlier, at around 5 a.m., a barrage of rockets was fired by Hezbollah into northern Israel.
The Israeli military reported that approximately 300 rockets were launched from southern Lebanon into northern occupied territories within the last 24 hours.
In a related development, the Israeli army ordered the evacuation of residents from 21 Lebanese villages in southern Lebanon. The evacuation directive instructed residents to move north of the Awali River.
The Israeli military has also ramped up its strikes on Lebanon’s infrastructure in the south. One of the latest airstrikes reportedly "completely destroyed" a mosque in Kfar Tebnit, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.
In Sidon, Israeli warplanes targeted an apartment building in Sharhabeel, though initial reports suggest the building was empty at the time of the strike. Another strike hit Nabatieh, leveling a structure in Roumine after the town had been bombarded multiple times overnight.
Four paramedics from the Lebanese Red Cross were injured in an Israeli airstrike while responding to a rescue mission in Sarbin. According to the Lebanese Red Cross, the paramedics were struck by a second airstrike shortly after arriving at the scene, causing concussions and damaging their ambulances.
The paramedics were taken to a hospital but are reported to be in stable condition.
The Israeli military has faced growing global condemnations for its strikes on medics and civil defense crews in both Gaza and Lebanon.
