Iranian Female Karatekas Win Medals in U-21 World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Fatemeh Zahra Saeidabadi and Yalda Naghi Beiranvand won a gold and a bronze medal respectively in the 2024 World Cadet, Junior & U-21 Championships on Sunday.

Saeidabadi defeated her Egyptian opponent Menatalah Elhawary in the U-21 Female Kumite 55kg.

Slovakian Nina Kvasnicova and Thailand’s Hokprasertgul Sirikamonnate claimed the bronze medal in the weight class.

In the U-21 Female Kumite -50kg, Mizuki Ishihara of Japan defeated Croatia’s Ema Sgardelli in the final.

The bronze medal went to Naghi Beiranvand and Ukraine’s Valeriia Sergaieva.

The 2024 World Cadet, Junior and U-21 Karate Championships, is a karate event being held in Venice, Italy from October 9 to 13, 2024.
