Hezbollah Launches Retaliatory Strikes on Advancing Israeli Forces in Southern Lebanon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement announced a successful retaliatory operation against Israeli forces advancing towards a southern Lebanese town on Monday.

Hezbollah confirmed it carried out the attack near the town of Aita al-Shaab, targeting Israeli military forces.

"While three Merkava tanks of the Israeli enemy were advancing towards the outskirts of the town, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance bombed them with guided missiles, achieving direct hits," the group said in a statement.

The statement added, "Tongues of fire were seen erupting from the vehicles, and their occupants were killed and wounded."

Hezbollah has conducted hundreds of similar strikes against Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories since last October, when Israel launched an intensified military campaign in Gaza and escalated its attacks on Lebanon.

The Israeli genocidal war has resulted in the deaths of more than 42,280 Palestinians and over 2,300 Lebanese, according to reports.

In a separate operation on Monday, Hezbollah launched rocket salvos targeting Israeli forces at a radar site, the Barkhta farm in the Israeli-occupied Shebaa Farms, and the Ruwaisat al-Alam site in Kfar Shuba Hills, also under Israeli control.

Additional strikes hit enemy troop gatherings in settlements including Margaliot, Kiryat Shmona, Khallet Warda, and the Zarit barracks in northern Israel.

These operations followed a drone strike on Sunday by Hezbollah on a military base for Israel's Golani Brigade in Binyamina, south of Haifa. The attack reportedly left four Israeli soldiers dead and dozens more injured.

A day earlier, Hezbollah had carried out a drone strike on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, deploying kamikaze drones in retaliation.

The resistance group has vowed to continue its strikes until Israel halts its aggression against Gaza and Lebanon.
