Israel Launches New Strikes Against Syrian, Lebanese Positions

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Israeli regime has conducted fresh airstrikes in Syria and Lebanon, targeting military and resistance positions, while continuing to violate a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.

On Thursday, Israel launched airstrikes on Syrian military positions south of Aleppo, targeting defense and scientific research facilities in the al-Safira suburbs, southeast of the city.

Syrian media reported significant explosions and flames, though no immediate casualties were confirmed. Further strikes were also reported near Quneitra, a southern Syrian region previously infiltrated by Israeli forces.

In Lebanon, Israel carried out additional airstrikes in the Nabatieh region, claiming to target medium-range rocket launchers operated by the Hezbollah resistance group.

Lebanese media confirmed at least three Israeli airstrikes in the area, with several houses set ablaze in Aitaroun.

Israel also bombed a building it claimed was an arms depot.

These attacks mark a continuation of Israel’s violations of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, which came into effect on November 27.

The truce, intended to last 60 days, followed months of heavy fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, resulting in over 4,000 deaths in Lebanon.

Despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces have continued operations, undermining the peace process.

An international monitoring committee, led by the United States, oversees the implementation of the ceasefire.

The UN peacekeeping force, which has been monitoring the region, expressed concern over the ongoing damage caused by Israeli strikes.

In the meantime, Hezbollah has vowed to respond decisively to Israeli actions once the ceasefire ends.
