Iran’s Sepahan Defeats UAE’s Al Nasr in AFC Champions League
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Sepahan defeated Al Nasr of the United Arab Emirates 2-0 in the 2016 AFC Champions League on Tuesday.
It’s Sepahan’s first win in three months.
Brazilian Luciano Pereira scored a goal in each half, ensured the 2010 AFC Champions League finalist made a successful start in Group A of this year’s continental club championship.
The Iranians continued to apply pressure and, just after the half hour mark, Mohammadreza Khalatbari missed a gilt-edged opportunity to put Sepahan further in front when the former Iran international miss-hit his shot with the goal at his mercy.
Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia and Lokomotiv Tashkent of Uzbekistan shared the points in the group.
