Alireza Mohmadi Takes Bronze at Asian Wrestling Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Alireza Mohmadi won a bronze medal in the 2023 Asian Wrestling Championships on Monday.
The Greco-Roman wrestler defeated Indian Rohit Dahiya 5-1 in the 82kg bronze medal match.
Kazakhstan’s Dias Kalen will meet Akylbek Talantbekov from Kyrgyzstan in the final match.
The Championships started on April 9 in Astana, Kazakhstan and will run until April 14.
The six-day event will determine the seeds for the World Championships to be held in mid-September in Serbia. The World Championships, consequently, will serve as the qualifying event for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
