Iran Too Strong for Indonesia: Friendly
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran beat Indonesia 5-0 on Tuesday in a friendly match, which was held as part of preparation for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
Saman Ghoddos (3rd), Rouzbeh Cheshmi (22nd), Shahriar Moghanlou (36th) and Mehdi Ghaedi (70th and 87th) scored for Iran.
The match was held in Doha, Qatar behind closed doors.
Team Melli will meet Palestine on Sunday in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup opener.
Iran is also scheduled to face Hong Kong and the UAE on January 19 and 23, respectively in Group C.
Amir Ghalenoei’s side is going to bring an end to the title drought in the competition.
Iran has not won the title since 1976.
